Google Chrome Beta 10 and Dev 11 released

Google took a step up their version ladder by releasing Chrome 11 Beta and a Chrome 11 Dev builds. If you've already been using one of the builds, it should have already updated to the latest version all thanks to the automated update system.

One of the major performance improvements you're likely to notice is with Javascript. Chrome 10 Beta uses a updated version of the engine called Crankshaft. The change should allow much smoother and quicker rendering of Javascript heavy pages. Hardware acceleration using your graphics card for video will also be supported. This means lower CPU utilization while playing videos which means better efficiency on the desktop but also on low power laptops. Google claims a drop of up to 80 per cent in CPU utilisation. The Chrome OS will obviously be closely knit with the Chrome browser and the performance of the browser is very essential. Password synchronization is also possible the new build. There are a few other smaller improvements such as the Options menu opening up as a web page instead of a separate window. The Chrome Dev 11 build has fewer changes other than a few bug fixes.
