Google TV is Up and About

Google TV shows us a vision of the future where TV and the internet are assimilated into one little bundle of entertainment and information. With TV, apps and the entire internet at your disposal, Sony is shipping out its line of HDTVs and Internet TV Blu-ray Players powered by Google TV as we speak.

Where's the "Im Feeling Lucky" button?

Google TV allows you to view TV shows on the internet, which is streamed to your HDTV or Blu Ray player but it seems that this technology is having teething problems.

Major TV broadcast networks such as ABC, CBS, and NBC have, for the time being, blocked access to their online video portals from the Google TV browser. Even Hulu.com and TV.com are currently blocked.
Other issues range from lack of support for Windows Media CODEC to problems with other popular codecs.

The technology is in its early phases and quite early to determine the success or failure of the Google TV as the preferred way to view online media. Once the initial niggles are hammered out, it should be an interesting piece of technology to follow.
